This programme will run for six months, 01 April 2025 – 30 September 2025, for an investment of R1350. A non-refundable deposit of R350.00 is payable upon completion of this entry form.
 
Payment options:
One time: R1350,
or
R350 – payable on submission, plus 2 payments: R500 each due by 30 April 2025 and 31 May 2025
 
If a payment is missed, ONE reminder will be sent after which you will be removed from the programme. Please note, no refunds will be made since mentors will be held responsible for the full payment of R1350 once accepted into the programme.

  • Entrants will have exclusive access to private groups in which they are encouraged to motivate one another, share information, brainstorm ideas and swap critiques on one another’s work.
  • During the mentorship phase, regular Q&As will be held with industry experts who will share their knowledge with entrants.
  • Regular online workshops will be presented to assist entrants as they prepare their manuscripts for submission.
  • While live events will be recorded, and slideshow presentations (if available) of the workshops will be available after the event, active participation is always HIGHLY encouraged, where possible.
  • Each entrant will be allocated their own mentor who will be available to assist with goal-setting, advice on writing craft, and to answer questions.
  • Entrants will receive feedback on their manuscript from their mentors. It isn’t, however, a free editorial service. Mentors should not be expected to provide detailed editorial feedback on chapters.
  • Entrants will be required to submit a completed entry of between 40 000 and 42 000 words by no later than Tuesday, 2 September 2025, to be in the running for the ROSA award for  Strelitzia Unpublished Author of the Year.

This programme will run for six months, 01 June – 30 November 2024, for an investment of R4500. A non-refundable deposit of R600,00 is payable upon completion of this entry form.
Payment options are as follows:
1 payment: R600 deposit upon entry, R3900 due by 31 May 2024
3 payments: R600 deposit upon entry, R1350 due by 31 May, 30 June and 31 July 2024
6 paymenst: R600 deposit upon entry, R700 due by 31 May, 30 June, 31 July, 31 August, 30 September and 31 October 2024.

Following a mentorship phase and two rounds of judging, the hotly-contested 2020 Strelitzia Award was won by Marianne Lomberg, for her novel Through Your Eyes.

2017

In 2017, ROSA introduces the Strelitzia Award. This contest is open to unpublished romance authors (writers whose books have not yet been published either traditionally or self-published), writing in both English and Afrikaans. Entrants must be residents or citizens of an African nation (as defined below), and, for this year, entries will be limited to the first twelve entries received. The deadline is the end of June 2017. Entry for 2017 is FREE!
