ROSA – Where writers become authors.
ROSA is a community for romance writers, offering workshops, mentorship, events, and a supportive network that helps authors grow their craft and confidence.
ROSA welcomes romance writers from all backgrounds and publishing paths. Membership runs annually and is open to both South African and international writers. In addition, Associate Membership is available for publishers, agents, and companies offering publishing or marketing services to authors, providing visibility within the ROSA community and access to selected member benefits.
At its core, ROSA exists to ensure that romance writers do not have to navigate their journey alone. By joining ROSA, you are investing not only in your own development as a writer, but also in a community that values collaboration, professionalism, and the power of romantic storytelling.

- Discounts on conference and other events fees
- Discount on entry fees for Imbali Awards for published authors
- Opportunity to enter the Strelitzia Awards and mentoring scheme for unpublished authors
- In the event that contests are over-subscribed, entries by members receive preference over those by non-members
- Be eligible to use a ROSA membership badge on your website / social media
- Promotion of members’ books on ROSA’s website, blog and social media
- Published members are eligible for a listing on the ROSA website

Application / Renewal Process
Please sign-up or renew by clicking on one of the “Join Now” buttons and completing the process.
- Membership Fees July 2025 – June 2026
- Membership fees are R450 per year.
Application / Renewal Process
Associate Membership is available for publishers, agents and companies who provide publishing or marketing services to authors. The fee per year (1st July to end June) is R600.
What do you receive in return for this?
- Access to the quarterly newsletter, inclusion on the ROSA website, and discounted member rates for three delegates to attend ROSA paid events and contests.
