I've written all my life. My Class One teacher, who obviously wasn't much of a daydreamer, was not pleased that I continually wrote stories that were patently untrue; stories about playing with fairies or visiting imaginary places. During my teens and twenties I carried on putting my dreams and fantasies down on paper, though they were strictly for my eyes only.
Many years later, my husband introduced the idea of actually writing for others to read and so I began work on an epic historical novel. Five years later I was still only on Chapter 5. I was stuck in permanent revision syndrome.
So I signed up to do a writing course that changed my life, because there I met a group of wonderful women who inspired me to take my writing seriously. One of those women is Amanda Holly, and it was she who suggested that I write Romance. I will never be able to thank her enough. I found my 'home' in writing romance. Apart from the fantasy and feel-good aspects of bringing two characters to their Happy Ever After, the romance writing community is just awesome.
I have now completed three romance novels, as well as a couple of short stories. Though I'm not yet published, I feel I have already accomplished and learned so much. I still have my day job in television advertising, but I plan to change that at the earliest opportunity for a job I can do in my pyjamas, the best job in the world ... being a romance writer.
